Energy Information & Data Lead
The primary emphasis of this work is ensuring that energy-related data are presented in a consistent, transparent, and accessible manner, allowing policymakers, industry, researchers, and the public to engage in discussions using a shared factual foundation.
Under Louisiana Revised Statute 36:358 (Act 727 of the 2024 Regular Legislative Session), the Energy Institute works in cooperation with the Louisiana Office of Energy to support a central, comprehensive, and unified energy data and information program for the state. This statutory role underscores the importance of accuracy, consistency, and public accessibility in energy data dissemination.
A defining feature of the Energy Information & Data core area is its commitment to methodological rigor and replicability. Data sources, assumptions, and analytical methods are documented to allow users to understand, replicate, and appropriately interpret published results. This approach supports transparency and helps ensure that energy-related discussions are grounded in clearly defined and reproducible information.
The Energy Institute also develops and maintains databases, interactive tools, and web-based resources designed to make complex energy information usable by non-technical audiences without sacrificing analytical integrity. By emphasizing consistency, accessibility, and rigor, the Energy Information & Data core area seeks to provide a reliable foundation for constructive, evidence-based dialogue on energy issues in Louisiana and beyond.
