The Energy Information Center (EIC) was established in 1982 as part of the Center for Energy Studies (CES) and continues today as a core facility of the LSU Energy Institute. Originally located at One East Fraternity Circle, the EIC relocated in 2003 to the newly constructed Energy, Coast & Environment Building, where it remains today.

The Small Conference Room provides an intimate setting with conference table seating for 10 participants. This dedicated meeting space features a Samsung 75-inch HDR smart TV for presentations and video conferencing, complemented by an Owl Labs Meeting Owl 360-degree smart video conference camera with integrated microphone and speaker. A large Quartet Infinity magnetic glass unframed dry-erase whiteboard (72" x 48") facilitates collaborative work sessions—ideal for smaller team meetings, committee sessions, or executive discussions requiring privacy and focused collaboration.

The Kitchen provides approximately 100 square feet of functional catering space with essential amenities for event food service. Equipped with a sink, stove, and catering refrigerator, the kitchen offers 38 square feet of counter space for food preparation and staging. This facility supports catering operations for events held throughout the Energy, Coast & Environment Building, ensuring convenient access for food service providers and event organizers.

The Rotunda Lobby spans approximately 1,800 square feet with a 43-foot diameter, providing an impressive open space for events and gatherings. This versatile venue accommodates dining arrangements for 40–86 guests and features floor-mounted power outlets for convenient equipment setup. Adjustable lighting levels allow customization for various event types, from formal receptions to casual networking gatherings. The lobby's circular design and ample space make it ideal for registration areas, refreshment stations, poster sessions, or standalone events.

The Rotunda Conference Room offers flexible configurations to accommodate classroom seating for 40 or dining arrangements for 48 guests. This approximately 800 square-foot space features a 10' x 10' projection screen with high-definition laser projector, a 4' x 8' whiteboard, and adjustable lighting levels. The room includes network connections, a mobile podium with Microsoft Windows 11 PC and laptop connections, and a portable Owl Labs Meeting Owl 360-degree smart video conference camera with integrated microphone and speaker. Terrace access provides additional versatility for events and gatherings.

The Dalton J. Woods Auditorium offers a professional presentation environment with 218 stadium chairs and 5 accessible spaces. Equipped with multilevel room lighting, a 226-inch diagonal fixed wide screen, and a high-definition laser projector, the auditorium provides exceptional visual clarity. Additional features include a 75-inch rear-wall-mounted HD display, ceiling-mounted monaural room speakers, wireless and wired microphones, and a speaker podium with Microsoft Windows 11 PC and connections for laptops or mobile devices. A ceiling-mounted Vaddio camera with touchscreen position control ensures seamless video capture and conferencing capabilities.

Location & Access

The Energy, Coast & Environment Building is located at 93 South Quad Drive on the LSU campus, at the corner of Nicholson Drive and South Quad Drive, next to Campus Federal Credit Union. Please note that Nicholson Drive Extension has been renamed to South Quad Drive.
