Energy Information & Data

Louisiana's Energy Data Program

Under Louisiana Revised Statute 36:358, as amended by Act 331 of 2026, the Louisiana Office of Energy is directed to work with the LSU Energy Institute to create and carry out the state's energy data and information program.

The program covers energy resources, production, demand, technology, and related economic and statistical information. The Energy Information & Data core area supports this work by developing and maintaining datasets, conducting statistical and spatial analysis, and providing information for research, public reporting, and policy analysis.

Data sources, processing methods, assumptions, and limitations are documented so that results can be reviewed and updated.
