Energy Innovation
Louisiana State University is hiring several limited-term Research Associate positions (18–24 months) to support applied energy, natural resources, technical, regulatory, and policy work with the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy. Roles span analytical research, energy information, geology, reservoir engineering, and energy law, offering hands-on experience and career development opportunities.

LSU is currently hiring for several Research Associate positions that will support applied energy, natural resources, regulatory, technical, and policy work in Louisiana. These candidates will work for LSU, but will be assigned to support specific roles and project needs at the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy. They will help the Department work on current projects, conduct analysis, support data and technical needs, and troubleshoot real-world problems as they arise. These are limited-term opportunities, generally expected to last 18–24 months, but they are designed to provide meaningful professional experience and can open doors to future opportunities in government, research, industry, and public policy. The model is similar in spirit to the Sea Grant program, where university-based talent is placed in applied roles to support public needs while building professional pathways.
