Director of Energy Education & Outreach
A central component of this effort is the Energy Fundamentals course, which offers a systems-based introduction to energy production, infrastructure, markets, and policy. Designed for participants from government, industry, education, and the general public, Energy Fundamentals emphasizes factual grounding and analytical context, supporting informed engagement with complex energy topics.
The Energy Institute also recognizes that effective outreach extends beyond written materials. Faculty and staff regularly travel across Louisiana to give presentations, participate in meetings, and engage directly with stakeholders on energy-related issues. These person-to-person interactions allow for dialogue, questions, and discussion tailored to the needs and interests of individual communities, organizations, and audiences.
In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Conservation & Energy, Energy Institute faculty and staff also support energy education at the K–12 level, visiting schools to engage elementary, middle, and high school students on energy systems, resources, and careers. These efforts complement broader public outreach activities, including workshops, educational materials, and public events.
Through Energy Education & Outreach, the LSU Energy Institute seeks to improve energy literacy, foster constructive dialogue, and ensure that energy-related research and information are accessible and meaningful to stakeholders across Louisiana and beyond.
