
Summer Metoyer serves as Assistant Director of Energy Innovation Operations & Engagement at the LSU Energy Institute, where she drives execution across high-impact energy initiatives, aligning policy, funding, and stakeholder strategy to advance Louisiana’s energy position.
Prior to LSU, she held key roles in both the legislative and executive branches of Louisiana state government. On the Louisiana House of Representatives Appropriations staff, she managed the full legislative lifecycle. From bill development through final passage, supporting budget strategy, policy execution, and committee operations. She also served as Confidential Assistant to the Secretary at the Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources, where she operated at the center of decision-making, advising leadership, coordinating with legislators and industry, and ensuring alignment across complex policy and regulatory priorities.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Public Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
